Week 1 Usage Risers: Real Roles on Players Most Leagues Passed On
The 29 players rostered in under 60% of leagues who drew a starter's share of the targets, the carries or the snaps in Week 1, led by Kalif Raymond. If those rates hold, the points follow.
Points are the loudest number a week produces and the least reliable one. What an offense decided to do with a player (how often he was on the field, how many of the targets went his way, how much of the backfield he got) is the part that tends to show up again the next Sunday. This post reads Week 1 that way, and only for players rostered in under 60% of leagues.
29 of them cleared at least one of the bars below, 14 of those on fewer than one roster in ten. 17 scored under 10 PPR points while doing it, which is the likeliest reason they are still sitting there: the role showed up in the snap counts before it showed up in the box score.
Roster share is the slower of the two numbers on each row. The other is Sleeper adds over the past week, and it says the market has already found some of these: 21 are among Sleeper's 100 most-added players, led by Devaughn Vele (5.6M), Caleb Douglas (3.6M), Devin Singletary (2.9M). Treat the roster share on those as a floor, and move on them first if you are moving at all. The rest were outside that list, under 74k adds each, which is where a role is still cheap.
Two caveats before the tables. This is one game, and one game of shares is a signal, not a settled role: an injury ahead of him on the depth chart, a blowout or a game plan built for one opponent can all inflate a week. And no free data feed publishes routes run, so for receivers and tight ends snap share is standing in for route participation. On a passing play the two are close to the same thing; on a run-heavy day they are not. So every name here comes with the same condition: if these rates hold, the points should follow. Week 2 is the first chance to find out.
Earning the targets
Receivers and tight ends who drew at least 18% of their team's targets on 5 or more looks. Target share is the stickiest usage number there is, and it is the one most directly tied to PPR points. The top 10 of 17 are below.

On the field for nearly every snap
Receivers and tight ends on the field for at least 80% of their team's snaps who did not already make the target list. Near-every-down usage is the role that turns into targets once the ball starts finding him, and it is usually the cheapest version of that role you will see.
